In this training you will complete the following objectives:
- Understand Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)
- Reduce the risks of SUID
- Understand Safe Sleep practices
- Implement the ABCs of Safe Sleep
- Advocate for Safe Sleep practices with the families you serve
- Create a Safe Sleep Policy for your program
- Define Abusive Head Trauma
- Recognize the symptoms and consequences of Abusive Head Trauma
- Examine why a baby does and SHOULD cry
- Develop strategies to handle frustration with a child in your care
- Define child abuse and neglect
- Identify characteristics of child abuse and neglect
- Explore cultural practices
- Strengthen communication skills with families
- Know when and how to report suspected child abuse and neglect
