This project was developed based on the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This course is intended to provide supplemental training for childcare providers who participate in CACFP. This course will: - Identify the basic information required on a Nutrition Facts label - Help participants locate key nutrient information on Nutrition Facts labels - Discuss different identifiers and health claims that may appear on food packaging - Explain how to utilize the ingredient list to identify food allergens and whole grain-rich foods - Provide best practice ideas to meet CACFP meal pattern requirements by using Nutrition Facts labels This course will take approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete and consists of: - Pre-test (10 minutes) - Nutrition Facts Label Video (~44 minutes) - Nutrition Facts Label Resources (~25 minutes) - Post-test (10 minutes)
