Meat and Meat Alternates in the CACFP (2026)

This project was developed in accordance with the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).Links to an external site. This course is intended to provide supplemental training for childcare providers who participate in CACFP.

This Course Will:

• Help ensure that the CACFP meal pattern requirements for the meat and meat alternates component are met
• Describe the nutrients found in various meats and meat alternates
• Provide best practice ideas and resources for serving a variety of meat and meat alternates
