Full course description
This course introduces educators to the core mindsets and practices that make inclusive learning possible. Together, we will explore why proactively removing barriers and planning for learner variability is essential to designing environments where all students can thrive. Participants will build a foundation in the UDL principles, guidelines, and checkpoints while exploring how these elements work together to broaden access, deepen engagement, and strengthen learning. We will also examine what it truly means to give students agency and how learner-centered design fosters greater ownership, independence, and confidence.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Understand why we must proactively remove barriers and plan for variability to create inclusive environments
- Understand the principles, guidelines, and checkpoints of the UDL framework as a foundation of inclusive practice
- Understand what it means to give your students “agency.”
